Moving!

Blogger has been great, but I'm moving onto another platform. I'll probably still end up at The Malovent Muse sometimes, but likely with different material and a redesign. For now, you can follow me here:
https://liablack.wordpress.com/ As well as through Goodreads and my Amazon Author Profile!

Their Precious Own: Out Today!

It's taken forever this year, but I'm excited to finally have another book out! It's a contemporary fantasy/crime noir m/m romance... one of my typical "I don't fit into one genre" sorts of stories. I hope you like it!

Here's a peek at the cover:

Their Precious Own comes out first on Amazon and will be available for lending and KDP select.

Goodreads: Love Has No Boundaries Event

For anyone not familiar with this event, the Goodreads M/M Romance group is hosting this fun event as part of their 2013 "Don't Read in the Closet Event".

Readers in this group post pictures and writing prompts (some are more specific than others) and put these up for adoption by the group's authors.

I happened to be fortunate to grab a lovely prompt that has been pretty challenging—while it's not my first foray into writing M/M BDSM, there is certainly more of it than Spiretown had!

The event runs until May 15th, but the "official" release date isn't going to begin until sometime in June.

I've been posting fairly regular "teasers" on the site, but in the interest of getting my blog up and running again, I'll likely post at least a few of them here, beginning with my initial attempt at a synopsis:

It's been only two years since Seven realized that he was a dreg—a caste-less drain on a system where the aristocracy has total control over the government, and the middle class groom their children to become privileged slaves. Sev harbors a dream of becoming such a slave, though it is a dream far beyond the scope of one unseen. What makes things more difficult for Sev, however, is the fact that he is a fugitive, and there are things about him that make an unseen dreg stand out.

Count Demetrie Silvastrano is a problem for his peers. For generations, the tightly controlled aristocratic bloodlines have maintained the appearance of omnipotence. But even those with total power are subject to the rules to sustain it. Demetrie has broken several already, and the insults against his class escalate when he ventures into the ghetto and comes back with a young mongrel dancer named Seven.

What begins as Demetrie's most outrageous self-indulgence—his rebellion against the choices of exile or assent—quickly evolves into something he never could have anticipated.

Caught between Demetrie's anger and his lust, Sev endures both punishment and pleasure for a chance to live like a slave, if only for a little while.

As their façade of Master and slave plays on, they begin to grow closer, despite the increasing pressure from outside forces trying to tear them apart, and Demetrie's own inner demons.

Between security and uncertainty lies a path neither man has noticed before, and the decisions they make individually will determine their fate together.
